As The Batman pushes forward with filming, Reeves has not been shy in revealing his unique vision for the Caped Crusader. And now we have our first glimpse at the brand new Batmobile!
What immediately stands out is how dramatically different this version of the Batmobile is when compared to the modern tank-like machines seen most recently in Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder’s creative attempts. Gone is the militaristic artillery laden aesthetic, now sporting a more simplistic traditional car design. If Nolan’s iconic tumbler was considered grounded at the time, this is pushing that mentality even further, potentially even harkening back to the early days of Adam West.

As widely reported, Pattinson’s iteration of the Bat is said to be early in his crime fighting career, and this Batmobile reflects something creatively achievable by a lone Bruce Wayne without the vast resources of Wayne Enterprises and the technological genius of Lucius Fox. Even so, the Batmobile remains faithful to the Bat brand with a sleek bat-like design — and, of course, it comes in black.

Another reveal we can’t neglect is the clearest look yet at the Batsuit in all its cinematic glory. While we still need to see it in full motion, this is an inspiring glimpse at what we can expect when the film rolls into theatres, cutting a stylistic silhouette and boasting a functional appearance that is sure to enable a better physical performance on behalf of Pattinson. I would even go so far as to say that this is the best on-screen rendition seen as of yet, sticking to the artistic visions of the source material whilst providing a functional, realistic take that looks both visually stunning and intimidating — everything the Dark Knight should embody.

Having a fully outfitted Pattinson stand next to the Batmobile was a clever idea on behalf of Reeves, showing the uniformity of both these designs and bringing the comic book panels to life in a way fans can get behind. I can picture where Reeves intends to take his trilogy, and I cannot wait for the first trailer to drop, which will undoubtedly bring lots of new information for us to talk about. So, stay tuned for all the latest updates and breakdowns!
